Year 1 Curriculum (Age ~6–7)

Focus: Reading and writing simple sentences in Galactic Tongue, expanding vocabulary and comprehension.
Modules:
- Module 1: Phonics review and expansion – blending sounds to form words
- Module 2: Sight words – commonly used words for early reading fluency
- Module 3: Simple sentences – writing “I see the star” → “The star is bright tonight”
- Module 4: Story comprehension – listening and retelling short stories, answering questions
- Module 5: Early handwriting skills – forming letters and spacing words
Activities: Reading picture books, tracing and writing letters, storytelling circles
Assessment: Reading simple sentences aloud, basic writing exercises, participation

Focus: Strengthening number sense, introducing basic operations, patterns, and shapes.
Modules:
- Module 1: Counting to 50 and number recognition
- Module 2: Addition and subtraction with objects (practical examples)
- Module 3: Shapes and symmetry – circles, squares, triangles, rectangles
- Module 4: Patterns and sequences – color, number, and shape patterns
- Module 5: Introduction to measurement – length, weight, volume using simple tools
Activities: Manipulatives, simple problem-solving games, measuring exercises
Assessment: Correct answers in addition/subtraction, shape recognition, pattern completion

Focus: Observation, curiosity, and basic scientific reasoning, with a gentle introduction to space concepts.
Modules:
- Module 1: Earth and sky – sun, moon, stars, day/night cycles
- Module 2: Plants and animals – local species, habitats, life cycles
- Module 3: Introduction to planets – Earth vs. Mars, imaginative alien worlds
- Module 4: Sensory observation – recording what they see, touch, hear
- Module 5: Simple experiments – growing plants, observing weather, floating objects in water
Activities: Nature walks, sky-watching, small experiments, imaginative storytelling
Assessment: Participation, ability to describe observations, curiosity shown
