Abilities:

Charge – Lowers head and rushes straight ahead with explosive speed; may follow up with a tusk swipe if it connects.

Iron Defence - sharpen body spikes to inflict thorns on physical attacks by attacker

Shoulder Bash – Rears up, then drops its full weight onto its side, crushing anything beneath

Ground Shatter – Stomps its forelegs into the ground, cracking heated terrain and causing molten chunks to scatter outward.

Eruption Slam – Rears up and slams down with both forelegs, cracking the terrain and causing geysers of superheated air to erupt randomly nearby.

Boiling Blood (Enraged Trigger) – When wounded, its orange mane glows brighter, steam vents from its hide, and movement speed increases drastically. All attacks now cause mild burn buildup.

Ember Trample – After stomping into molten ground, its hooves ignite. Its next 2–3 charges leave short-lived burning patches.Double Gore – Rapid two-hit combo using both tusks, capable of flinging a target into the air.

Brimstone Boar aka Gortamba - obsidian tusks, wild boar, black skin, orange hair, metallic spikes all-over body

The Gortamba, more commonly known as the Brimstone Boar, is a hulking wild beast whose very form seems forged from the fury of volcanoes. Its hide is a tough, coal-black skin studded with metallic spikes, each resembling jagged shards of cooled magma. A mane of coarse, fiery-orange hair blazes along its spine, a stark contrast against its dark body. Its most fearsome weapons are its obsidian tusks, curved and razor-edged, capable of cleaving stone as easily as flesh.

Habitat: Gortamba thrives in volcanic plains, scorched forests, and sulfurous wastelands, where few other creatures dare to roam. It is drawn to areas of geothermal activity, where it wallows in ash pits and lava-heated mud to strengthen its armored hide.

Behaviour: This beast is both aggressive and territorial, charging intruders with little provocation. When threatened, Gortamba lowers its head, flaring its mane, and emits a deep bellow that echoes like a furnace roaring to life. During mating season, males battle with tusks and shoulder spikes, gouging scars into one another that harden into obsidian-like ridges. Despite its ferocity, Gortamba shows remarkable intelligence, capable of feigned retreats and ambush tactics against hunters.

Diet: Omnivorous but with a preference for mineral-rich roots and volcanic tubers. It also consumes carrion and, when desperate, will hunt large prey. The acids in its stomach allow it to digest charred vegetation and even fragments of stone.

Cultural Notes: Local folklore paints Gortamba as a beast born from the gods’ wrath, a warden of volcanic fire. Villages once offered sacrifices of roasted meat to appease it, hoping to prevent its destructive rampages. Hunters prize its obsidian tusks, which are believed to hold volcanic power and are fashioned into weapons. Its spines, when ground, produce a metallic powder used in traditional forging.
